The Format

China is a unique example of simultaneous and melting Government Oriented and Market Oriented trends.

The progressive conversion of the existing gigantic Chinese Sustainable Urbanism needs in demands, must therefore be the result of two simultaneous process : a bottom up one, for the market information to go up to the various government levels and a top down one, for the resulting government orientations to be sent go down again to the market and its actors.

The format of ECEB complete offline and online experience has been designed and conceived to address these issues.

The two locations of ECEB 08 China Edition are both :
Business Actors : Shangyu, a Province City making available its unique land resources under the edges of Sustainable Urbanism and Green Buildings and SIECEPP, a recently established Technology Park, making available its own mission of hosting the most valuable resources (Products show-case, R&D, know-how incubators) of the best international Corporations in the Energy Conservation and Environment Protection fields.
Government bodies : the Shangyu Municipal Government on one hand and the two shareholders of the Park on the other hand, the Governments of the City of Shanghai and of its District of Baoshan.. Also, the park is going to be the incubator of the initiatives which will subsequently be developed full scale in Shangyu 270 km2 land.

Therefore, they are excellent opportunities to generate and breed the above double cycle (Market to Government and Government to Market).

Also, the format of ECEB events is focused on the same strategy :
ECEB participants and speakers : bringing government representatives in contact with market representatives, informing them about the respective potentialities.
ECEB contents and program, providing concrete opportunities to test these potentialities as well as to make available business returns of their interactions.
ECEB market reach and networking tools : a combination of offline events. ECEB 08 China is one of the offline ones and ECEBnet platform will make of it and of its developments an ongoing event.

The Goals

Some of the goals are mutual knowledge, understanding, exchange, interaction, discussion, demonstration.

The main expecting result is consensus, resulting from common interests and from the joint approval of the best ways to serve them.

The expected operational outcome should be the definition of the best way to bring forward, with a joint Government and Business effort, some of the Business projects proposed and discussed during the event, making them pilot cases for further developments.
